The sky is an illusion.

There is nothing as sky.It is the light of the sun that is dispersed through the atmosphere that we see blue over our head . The stars are not fixed to anythng in the sky . They are in a state of free fall in a zero gravity field / space .They are moving in the vacuum of the space .In the night also the non-existent illusory sky appears to be blue only on account of the sun's light being reflected and dispersed to some extent through the atmosphere .we do not get the sun's light directly but get a part of it reflected and dsipersed by the atmosphere around the earth's surface through which the sun's rays pass to the space on the opposite side of the earth away form the sun. This lesser quantity oflight causes the night sky also appear blue only, along with the reflectedl ight of the sun from the surface of the moon over our head .. The world itself is an illusion . Illusion is something that appears for a short time and vanishes as something unreal . There is no rule that an illusion should last for so many hours or days or months or years. Illusions appear and last for different durations The only common character of illusions is the appearance and diappearance of matter or vision . Our life is also an illusion .Only thing is that it's appearance and endurance is a bit longer ;but it vanishes definitely after some time and is even forgotten after some years .What appears to us as present in the sky is not really present .what appers to be non -existent is really existing .The sky is an instant in something that is unreal appearing to be present .The inanimate objects are instances of things living but appearing to be dead . A piece of stone which apparently appears to be inanimate is not really inanimate . It is brimming with energy .See an atom of the element it is composed of, under an electron microscope . You will see the electron spinning around the proton of every atom of all the elements of which the stone is made of .with the speed almost equal to that of light .and if you could split the ptoton of any atom of any inanimate object ,you will be able release the photons which are particles of light all running with the maximum of the speed that any matter could attain. So nothing is deadi n this universe . Everything is alive and death is an illusion as the atoms of the lements in thedead bodies are also alwaysalive and aoms of elements never die and never get destroyed but only changed .The whole world is a grand illusion. -the "MAYA '' which only a highly disciplined mind of great wisdom alone can see , according to lord Krishna as taught by him in Bhagavad -Gita.to Arjuna in the battle field .

Blue light gets scattered more than any other colour in the light spectrum. So we get to see the overall affect by seeing the sky blue. This is confirmed by when we see the sun in the early morrning and late afternoon at sunrise and at sunset where it appears red (white light - blue light gives predominantly red light). Furthermore if you look at the sun through smoke it appears red as blue light gets scattered from its light.

And we can never forget those beautiful sunsets after Mt Pinatubo in Indonesia erupted in the 1980's and pushed a huge amount of dust into the atmosphere which too many months to disperse and was scattered all through the earth's atmosphere.

Home Experiment:

Get a clear plastic bottle and fill it with clear water and then put in a drop or two of milk. Shake well to disperse the milk thrrough the water. Go into a darkened room and shine a torch through its length. Observe from the side and the scattered light will appear blue. Look through the other end and the light from the torch will appear red.

At night there is no sun in the sky so we see the universe in its blackness with the light from planets and stars not being swamped by the lintense light from the sun.

This is exemplifed during a solar eclipse when the moon blocks the light from the sun and during totality the sky goes dark and the stars come out, only to disappear again at the end of totality.

light is apparently made up of seven colours as in the rainbow.that is red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo& violet.now, our text book says that the colour violet has a larger ability to disperse.but an encyclopoedia said that the colour blue has the ability to scatter the most as compared to other colours so thats why the sky looks blue during the day.
at night there's no sunlight due to the earths revolution about its axis .therefore ,the sky appears dark and when its dark the distant stars that are nothing but balls of fire become visible and the sky appears starry.
i hope u have got your answer...

The light from the sun scatters through the atmosphere making it look blue. It is simply too bright during the day to be able to make out the faint stars. At night there is no light, so it is possible to see the very faint stars in the sky.

A clear cloudless day-time sky is blue because molecules in the air scatter blue light from the sun more than they scatter red light. When we look towards the sun at sunset, we see red and orange colors because the blue light has been scattered out and away from the line of sight. At night we just see space.

it's starry in day and night - what is weird is that you can get into a hole or an old well(dont ask) and look up and you will see the stars during the day.(and for the smarty's - no, the seeing of stars is not from oxygen deprivation)

Well i the ozone layer is made of three oxygens O3 and the colour of that molucule is blue. So when the light hits it you see blue and in night there is no light so you dont see the blue.

the sky looks blue because of the sun!!!!!!!!! you know.
the light scatters due to the particles and the blue light is least scattered. In night there is no light to scatter.YOU UNDERSTAND.

Has to do with the light from the sun, filtering through the atmosphere and the wavelength of light that passes through
