I would think that it would depend on the situation. If it is your child - no - you need to teach them the difference. But if it is something you are not directly connected to - it probably wouldn't make a difference. My policy is always tell the truth. Always. No matter what. And when there is someone lying and it affects me or my life - I am always going to say something. If it is a neighbor bragging about something and I know it is a lie, I don't really say anything because it isn't important enough. If that makes any sense.

Man, that's quite the BS story you have told... They cannot pull you over for solicitation unless they were conducting an undercover sting and they heard you on tape soliciting a police officer dressed as a hooker. That is the ONLY way you can be arrested for solicitation. You expect us to believe that two "corrupt" cops would do this in front of two female witnesses?!?! So, tell us the truth - were you and your girlfriend out cruisin' for a hooker?

No it's not wrong. It's OK to lie to the birthday person for a surprise party and stuff like that.
