For instance should the soldiers be able to create a case (to argue in court) against why they shouldn't go to war if they feel they can prove it with enough substantial evidence?
Why or why not?

Aaron: No, they volunteer to defend their nation, but if they feel that war is not in the nations best interest, should they have legal backing to argue against it?

Well, as a U.S. Marine now out, we all have the right to argue against any war.
The question is "at what cost".
There is also a protection act of some kind that allows current serving members to contact their congressman incognito without divulging thier identity publicly.
Of course there is overwhelming pressure not to do any of that and you are under constant supervision.
Most of the answers above are flippant sillly responses from people who probably haven't served or been in anything resembling the situation you describe.
-----Locutus below is wrong as well, police officers can resign without going to prison.

A soldier is a soldier. If a soldier desires to be other than a soldier, he shouldn't sign on. He weakens the unit, he disheartens those who will pay the ultimate sacrifice. A soldier is commited to the Chief Commander. Some must be soldiers and some must be Commanders. Not everyone can be a soldier and not everyone can be a Commaner. A person can be a Conciencous Objector and serve their county in other ways. But for a soldier to argue against going to war is like a jewel in the nose of a pig. It is uncomely and worthy of scorn.

There are many other legitimate reasons people sign up other than to fight in a war they might not believe in, like natural disasters & civil riots etc, etc. So yes, in that case, but maybe should specify beforehand.

This verse refers to someone who insults us and that i'm searching it very puzzling to comprehend the way it pertains for your questions. Are you attempting to say that the countless terrorist assaults by technique of muslim communities and international locations is really in basic terms an insult and that the bible says that we are to settle for those assaults on ourselves and different international locations without recourse? also, i'm at a loss as to what this verse has to do with economic guidelines. In Christ Fr. Joseph be conscious: for sure it is speaking of insults and definite those using insults might want to be evil. at the same time as Jesus replaced into struck by technique of the protect after His arrest, He did not turn the different cheek yet stood defiantly adversarial to him. Are you declaring that in this get mutually Jesus replaced into no longer training what He preached? This verse certainly does no longer forbid self protection or the protection of others. throughout the Scriptures we are taught to love one yet another and to sacrifice for another. Jesus even suggested that there is no more advantageous get mutually of love than to position down one's life for yet another. He also suggested in His large sermon on the mount that blessed are the peacemakers. Peacemaking calls for sacrifice and action and not in any respect sitting passively aside at the same time as evil threatens.
