YOUR BLADDER ONLY HAS TO BE SO FULL, AT 19 WEEKS IM SURE ITS THE SAME AS THE TYPICAL 20 WEEKS SCAN WHERE THEY CHECK FOR BIRTH DEFECTS AND SUCH AND YES THEY WILL BE ABLE TO SEE THE SEX AS LONG AS THE BABY COOPERATES, THEY CAN SEE IT AT 16 WEEKS THEY JUST USUALLY DONT WANT TO LOOK TILL 20 AND MOST INSURANCE COMPANYS DONT COVER BUT THE ONE AT 20 WEEKS. I FOUND OUT AT 17 WEEKS MINES A BOY AND HAD THREE SCANS SINCE AND HES STILL A BOY HAHA, GOOD LUCK

Due to being high risk, I have been having sonograms every 2-4 weeks since I was 11 weeks, I am now 28 weeks. I have never been advised to drink water before a scan, I've usually had to do a urine sample before the exam so my bladder has never been even remotely full. My baby was identified as a boy at 15 weeks, I believe, and they did a nuchal test which looks for signs of Down Syndrome, also check for cleft lip/palate, neural tube defects like spina bifida, etc, also measure longs bones, skull size, heartbeat, etc and checked for gender. So you should be able to find out what you need to at this visit.

Good luck and congrats!!

Hard telling if they will be able to really give the sex, and if they do, it cant be considered 100% that is what you are having. And more than likely the scan is to make sure you are as far along as they think, and to make sure you arent ahead. And to check for sometimes, early signs of any birth defects.

i found out the sex at 18 weeks and all they said was to have a full bladder.

i am sure you will have a good chance of finding out the sex of the baby at you scan

congrats and good luck
