You will need to have a Tax ID / Reseller Certificate in order to qualify for legitimate wholesale pricing and if the company doesn't ask for one, they are not true wholesalers. Your local library should have directories of wholesalers and manufacturers that you must contact in order to ask for pricing which is often based on volume purchases. Even with a Tax ID, you won't get the greatest price discount on units of one or two. Many of them will have certain minimum quantity or dollar amount requirements. Don't just assume that a business claiming to be wholesale is really wholesale. Shop around. Your best bet is directly through manufacturers, IF they will sell to you.

One way to search is to contact the company that manufactures the product and ask them for the representative in your area. For example, if you are looking for Nike, then try to contact Nike itself (e-mail, phone, etc.) and request information on the distributors, whole sellers, etc. in your area. Sometimes it takes time to get a response through e-mail.
