in someways yes, but only celebrities who have done something great with their lives, not celebrities from reality tv shows or celebrities from famous parents like nicole richie or callumn best. These days celebrity is just being given away for free anyone can be a celebrity just get on a reality tv show. We don't idolize the great actors that have been around for many years. We admire mindless airheads from reality tv shows. i mean whats this world coming to!!!

No way!!!! they are people, human like you and me. Actors for example are getting paid for having multiple personalities. You have to get into character for the part. Singers they have a good voice which makes a person happy when you like the song. Reality TV celebrities are people that didn't quite make it in acting or thought about it but later said nah. These are the people that got their big break.

So to answer your question No we should not idolize celebrities.

ABSOLUTLY NOT!!!! I think celerities do nothing for society, and do not represent America the way it shoul be represented. All they do is pretend professionally and make a ton of money doing it. Yet our soldiers die for us and they hardly get any recognition. Soldiers should be idolized. There are real men out there who do the insaine crazy sh*t that guys like Tom Cruise and Bruce Willis pretend to be. When my husband was going through Officer Candidate School, there was a Special Forces guy there and he was capable of sleeping with one eye open, LITERALLY! Joel said it was the creepiest thing he had ever seen! My husband has managed to learn to automatically wake up every 2 minutes when he's napping. Soldiers train everyday, they do practice trips about 2 months long as if their actually in Iraq to prepare for combat. Tom Cruise shoots a few scenes and then has an expensive dinner, goes to some bull sh*t event, then gets to sleep in his ginormous bed in his mansion. My hubby and all other soldiers, go on 12 hour to 24 shifts at a time, sometimes catching a few winks in the HUMMV's, and get to sleep 4 maybe 5 hours in a crappy little cot in either 130 degree whether or 30 degree whether. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

NOT! Not because I'm jealous just spiritual and I realize that those poor souls are so lost that it isn't funny. They have no sense of compassion for others like a poor person. Do you think Angelina Jolie should be honored for her philanthropy? When one does something thoughtful for another it should be in anonymity and any money they donate is a total waste because they are not truly giving. Why? Because they hardly notice the money gone from their accounts. It is the poor person who gives from the heart that has no money to spare is the most honored gift one can give! It is not honored here in this world but in the spiritual level it is moving mountains. People who treat each other like garbage don't understand this at all either. So the celebs have nothing to tally up and bring with them when they leave this world. That is why they are poor souls who just don't seem to understand the merit of life in the least.

In 9 out of 10 cases, no we should not. You don't idolize people for being rich and/or famous. That is so materialistic it's pathetic.
The only person I "idolize" is Jesus Christ, but I do ADMIRE celebrities, or anyone for that matter, who uses his/her wealth or position to help and benefit others.

No,they are people just like us.Just because they do acting, singing or dancing does not make them more important than anyone else,it's still a job and pays the bills.Their job is just a little bit more popular than regular work.Would a celebrity want our autographs or to put our pictures on their walls? Acourse not.We should just appreciate the entertainment they provide and leave it at that, not lose our minds. That's just my opinion.

In most case no.
Celebrities seam to always end up hurting them selves either by drugs or Alcohol or both. People like Paris Hilton need to grow up and act her age.

Sure, I would love to know what Ja Rule thinks about Iran launching a second batch of centrifuges at its pilot nuclear fuel plant despite possible Security Council sanctions.

Definitely not. Idolizing, no. Of course we can take interest in them, but not follow their lifestyle and such. Aren't they humans after all? Humans who make mistakes? Think about it.
