I had re-occuring tonsilitis, and I had missed time, as a Telemarketer, I couldn't read my script with tonsilitis, it affected my performance, and attendance, tired of being hauled into the office and being placed on warning's..I went back to my doctor to explained the situation.. he gave me a note saying it was too stressful. The fact it became a habit of being hauled into the office asking about my missed time, placed on warning's, for attendance and performance, I was up to the escalation process.. with doctor's notes or not.. it never made a difference.. we had 10 days out of the year, doctor's notes didn't matter.. it still counted as 10 days gone. So, I decided to take the note saying it was too stressful, and left.
I have a new job interview, and first thing their going to ask.. reason for leaving your previous job?
What would be the best way to sum all of that lovely crap up.. LoL

Hmmm.. I am somewhat of a professional BS artist so I wouldn't have to worry. I would come out of the interview smelling of fresh cut roses and the interviewer would be crying in sympathy for me, sending me to personnel to begin the employment process =) But since you asked, you can just be honest with them. Let them know that you had a minor health condition and your previous employer was indifferent to your situation. There are many ways you could put that, but make sure you leave them with the impression that you are going to be dependable if they offer you a position within their company. Other than that I can't really think of anything else other than don't worry too much about the past situation because you were no more in control of your health as the previous employer was in control of the lack of compassion. Good luck! =)

You don't have to give the real reason you left the job. Remember, your former employer can only verify that you worked there and what dates. No other information. Otherwise they could get into a lot of trouble. If you really feel that you need to disclose something, just tell the truth. Reoccurring tonsillitis is a problem, especially if you had strep throat! It can really be brought on by too much stress. Your potential employer will appreciate that you're being honest and upfront with him. Honestly, not all new employers make the phone call to the previous employer. It is all based on how you come across in the interview. Good luck!

The important thing is to not bash your previous employer - that looks really bad on you. Try to make it sound good - but honest. Say that you had a physical condition that made that job incompatable with your situation at the time. But stress that you will be more than ready and capable of filling the position that you are applying for. If they ask for further details - try to put a positive spin on it. Hopefully the position that you are going for will not have the same problem. Good luck.

Tell them the truth why you left your job and ask for a job which will be mostly Desk work.
