My friend is going to Aus from the UK, and would like to use her phone while there and not cost a fortune. A cheap pay as you go sim card seems ideal. If she were visiting London from abroad I would suggest buying a sim card from Tesco for under a fiver. What is the equivalent In Aus? Cheers and G'day!

In Sydney you can benefit from the organic beauty. From unspoilt beaches to community gardens and, obviously, the sparkling harbour, Sydney is a town worth visited and with hotelbye you could have the chance to do that. The Sydney Harbour Bridge or "Coathanger," while the natives contact it is one of many places you should not skip in your journey here. This place was the city's best-known landmark prior to structure of the Opera House. Reinforced by significant double piers at each conclusion, it was built-in 1932 and stays the world's greatest metal posture connection, connecting the harbour's north and south shores within a bend increasing 134 metros over the water. Along their size run two railway lines and nine counters for path traffic, the path of which may be different according to traffic flow. Also, to understand concerning the intriguing record of the bridge's structure you are able to visit the museum in the south-eastern pier.

Best "Pay as you go" would be the prepaid sim cards available very easily in Sydney, there are various optus/vodaphone franchises, you might find one at the airport itself. Here you can subscribe for a new sim, once you have your SIM, you can easily add credits as and when you want by recharging (the recharge amount can be anything from $25.00 to $100.00).
The best thing is even if you finish your credits people can still call you, because incoming is free. Also make sure the phone you are taking along is not locked with your wireless provider.
Have a nice trip.

You should try the payphone cards - you can use them on public telephones or hotel phones (just dial in the code on the card) before dialling the UK number. They were great we bought one for 7dollars, were there 6 weeks and we called everone and it lasted us up to the end of the holiday. We bought it at the bus station in Perth but you can buy them everywhere. There was a special offer on ours it should have been 10 dollars. I know its not a sim card but it sure saves you money.
