Actually, I think your milkshake story was inspired. The fact that on both days you were actually in work adds credence - if you'd just called in sick with that story I doubt he'd have bought it (which I think he has).
If I were you, I might be inclined to see if he'd let me go home early today.

No... he will have made a file note on your personnel record..
We bosses are attuned to BS stories - some are slightly more believable than others...
Good ones that I have had to endure recently....
"I'm really ill with glandular fever and tonsilitis - I should be back in in a couple of days... by Wednesday".
"I think I was bitten by a rat in my sleep and I have to go to the doctors to see if I have goy Weils Disease"
The same person forgot that 2 years ago they had said "I think I have got a tick in my leg and might have Lymes Disease and I have to go to the doctors to get it checked out"
"I was so upset by the stories of the famine that I went into shock - I think I've got post-traumatic stress disorder"
"My daughter shut my kneecap in the car door"
"I slipped on a wet floor and the jolt gave me toothache"
"I was run over by a gang of youths on skateboards whilst crossing the road"
LOL... you wouldn't believe what BS some people come up with...
BE WARNED WE KNOW THAT YOU ARE LYING....
Oh... and by the way... what compensation have you agreed with the place that you got the milkshake from? Also have you informed Environmental Health? Also... if it was sour... surely you would have noticed a sour taste? Finally... the human gag-reflex would have made you sick instantly - hence - no long term effect!

Might be playing you to see what you do next. May want to just stop in at the doctors office and tell him your story so you can get a note with permission to stay home for a day and rest.

Either he believed you were genuinely sick yesterday or he believes your a lair and playing you at your own game today, best not to push you luck in case hes in a bad mood later in the day and takes it out on you.

Hmmm...ever stop to wonder before you posted this question....what if your boss happens to be a member of Yahoo! Answers....reads it religiously, happens to be reading it now, or tommorow whenever ... he or she thinks your story sounds familiar and decides to check your question out more thoroughly?...I mean how many people ya think got sick at work on monday claiming it was from drinking a sour milkshake and still decided to pretend to be sick today?... :-o......lol
