The disk itself may be write protected by a small plastic switch on the back.
3-1//2" floppy disks are obsolete, if you want to destroy the disk and it's contents, then simply break apart the plastic enclosure and cut the disk inside into pieces with scissors.
If you want to re-use the disk, then simply reformat it and ignore any warnings about losing data.

Slide the little plastic tab from the locked position to the unlocked position no extra point required this is a freebie
