my 2000 pontiac grand prix won't shift into overdrive any ideas why and how to fix?

no this transmission is all electrical check the over drive switch if that dont work the torque converter is probably shot because the over drive on that car is a torque converter lock up so take it to a tranny shop hope this helps

No matter how you slice it, this may not be a pleasant experience. My wife's 99 Monte Carlo Z34 uses the same drivetrain and the transmission started having problems at 60K. I quickly sold it after spending many days trying to fix it and some of the quotes I received. There are bugs in that 4T65-E that causes them to be a hit or miss transmission. There is no quick and dirty fix. You will have to bring it to a transmission shop.
