He needs to maintain a mean of 8 goals after 8 matches.
So the total no. of goals to be scored = 8*8 = 64.
Out of these 64 goals he has already scored 4 + 12 + 6 + 10 + 11 + 8 + 6 = 57 goals.
So in the 8th match he needs to score 64 - 57 = 7 goals.

That's the answer!

to find the mean, add all the values, and divide by how many there are.

4 + 12 + 6 + 10 + 11 + 8 + 6 = 57

He has kicked 57, In 8 games to get a mean of 8 he must have kicked 64 altogether, so he needs to kick 7.

Let's take the no. of goals required as 'x'.

(4+12+6+10+11+8+6+x)/8 = 8

57 + x = 64

x = 64 - 57

x = 7
In order to achieve a mean of 8, he needs to score 7 goals in the next game.

(By the way, the player seems amazing. Nobody I know can score more than 4 goals a game!)

He can kick as many foals as people will let him, and just be called mean. If he kicks goals, though,
(4 + 12 + 6 + 10 + 11 + 8 + 6 + x)/8 = 8
57 + x = 64
x = 7

4+12+6+10+11+8+6+x = 8*8
57 + x = 64
x = 64 - 57
x = 7

mean is the average of all the number of goals scored from all the games
he has played already 7 games
including the next game i.e when he plays a total of 8 games he gets a mean of 8
so in 8 games he has scored a total of 8*8 = 64 goals
the total number of goals he has alreday scired in the 7 games
= 4+12+6+10+11+8+6 = 57
so the number of goals he must score in the 8th game = 64 - 57 =7

( 4+12+6+10+11+8+6+x)/8=8

(57+x)/8=8 x=7

you can skip the algebra and just be like there will be 8 games so you must divide the total number of goals by 8 and they must =8
so the total number of goals must be 64. then do 64 minus the goals you now of already and what is left is 7
