There are always 2 sides to the same coin/story. I wonder what will happen to those families whose whole existence depends upon making those crackers. It is a very serious thought: and this is nothing to do with child labor. At the same time I know asthmatic patients have a tough time struggling for breath among cracker fumes. Yes, it is Diya wali = Deepawali / Diwali.

Diwali is festival of lights. Most of them do celbrate diwali by burning crackers only. Right from a small kid to an old man they enjoy celbrating diwali by crackers. But keeping in view of atmospheric pollution, hyderabad govt. has advised ppl. not to burn crackers. So, from this year onwards i reduced burning crackers to a larger extent and from next year onwards i will do it to a maximum. Besides burning crackers we also have some others occassions like lakshmi pooja, bhai dujh n all. I hope i will give importance on those.

ya, i celebrated diwali without crackers. just my contribution to reduce pollution and noise. of course we distributed and exchanged a lot of sweets among friends, even non-hindus and non-indians. lots of good will spread around during festivities.

New clothes, sweets, crackers and exchange of greetings and happiness is Deepavali. Why strip one .can we not tolerate,if not share, for one day.It is after all happy moments to the kids and those who choose to be kids on that day.
I celebrated with minimum noise and disturbance.
