Is there a website online you can go to that can give you free marriage licenses from another state? I'm asking because i'm trying to pursue child support from my two childrens father, and i need to know if he is married or not, because he told me he was. and the law in the state of california states if the groom is not working and his bride is working they can garnish her check because he owe's child support. I went to my court house yesterday to give his name and see if it came up that he was married, but i was unsucessful, they told me nothing came up under his name.

tell you this, you wont get her check garnish for child support period..She has no obligation to those children, She could fight that in an appeal and win..look at presidence, instead of the actual law. I know this because my husband's ex tried to do that in court to my pay and the judge said that I am a gardian, but I am not the biological parent the law always states biological UNLESS an adpotion occurred which would never happen.

Do a google search for the state and marriage licenses. Depending on how much he owes they (the government) can hold his income tax return (if he has worked or if he files his income tax as married). Good Luck!

Not that I know of. If he's not working how is he living. Take him to court, the judge should make him pay, or go to jail. He needs to take responsibility for his children.
