I think that he is a huge student of the game and watches lots and lots and lots of tape, from last year and all year, and memorizes the different looks that the defenses use. he strives to be the best

There are a few other QB's who do this, just not on that type of level. Palmer from Cinci does it. I hate Peyton, cant stand him, but he has such a high football IQ b/c he strives to be the best and he is prob. one of the top 5 hardest workers in the NFL. His work ethic is unbelievable and he watches more film than prolly anyone. He also works with his receivers on a daily basis and they have a non verbal communication that is uncanny, no one else in the NFL has that type of connection with his receivers (thats why Indy will never let Wayne, Harrison, Stokley go).

There are lots of reasons.
One is his personality and work ethic. He probably studies and practices more than most QB's. He has done this from his high school days. In college, he got in trouble for posting notes on 'mandatory' summer workouts. That is against NCAA policy. He replaced 'mandatory' with 'voluntary' but he really pushed for his recievers to workout all summer so they could get their timing down.
Another is his pedigree if you will his genes. His father was a good QB and his brother is pretty good as well. It's almost like he was born to play football.
Lastly, he's pretty smart period, not just football smart. He graduated college in 3 years with a very high (3.7 or so) GPA.
There are probably even more reasons, but these are a few I came up with.

He was born with a football in his hands. Peyton Manning is a very smart man. The Colts team was built around him from the O-line to the defense. His dad was a good QB too, he just played for a bad team. This guy has football in his blood and you will see him in the booth or coaching when his playing career is over.

I think you may be kinda confused. You may think just because the audibles he is calling the plays. I suspect that isn't always the case. I think they line up wrong on purpose and he has the play. They call the "audible" making it look like he is calling a play when really he is just reseting them to the play they are supposed to set at. Also other QBs DO call their own plays, and it used to be done by most QBs. Yeah being his father was a QB proably helped him do it better but don't be so amazed and think no one else can or does.

one reason his his dad. Archie Manning was great. It was a shame for him stay with the Saints his entire career.I can remember when Joe Namath was with Alabama and at the time there was not anyone that could kick the ball into the end zone. Joe went up to Bear Bryant and said I want kick the ball but let me throw it. Joe, on his then good knees could toss the ball 60 yards on his knees, into the end zone...
