Our physics teacher told us to build something that uses lenses. What projects can you suggest? It would be pretty nifty nice if you can show me blueprints... hehe.... that ends my question... xiao..

get one of those large styrofoam balls .. about the size of a basketball.. and make an eyeball out of it.... get you a good sized lens.. hollow out the ball the circumference of your lens.. paint the ball all eyeball realistically and demonstrate.. how the eyeball uses its lens to see.. maybe you could simulate the vision process using a mirror behind the lens showing what your eye sees and use lights or bright images in front.. making ur demonstration more easily viewed..

Some d|ckhead in the chemistry Q&A was asking how to fulminate mercury. How about a project to demonstrate why one should *never* attempt this at home? (HINT: Do *not* do a 'test run' the night before ☺) Seriously. How about an empty 1 gallon metal can with about a half inch of water in it. Put a burner under it and get the water to boil and fill the can with water vapor (steam). Then remove the heat and screw the can lid on (wear gloves ☺) As the can cools and the water condenses, atmospheric pressure completely crumples up the can. It's pretty impressive to watch it happen and see what 14.7 PSI really means. Doug

XIAO, you can make a telescope which can magnify far away objects. You might be able to see the moons of jupiter and saturn if you build it right.

Try doing a google search on making your own telescope.
