I have been TTC for 6months, and my periods are coming in at around a 34-35 cycle, what would be my most fertile days? And does anyone have any tips? What about Fertilaid?

Buy an ovulation kit which will predict when you are most fertile. Since your periods are longer, you probably won't be ovulating day 13-15 which women with a 28 day cycle do. I suggest starting the ovulation testing at about day 10-12 and continuing until it reads positive. When it reads positive, make sure you have intercourse that day as well as the next day (or even two), this will give you the highest chance of becoming pregnant. We do a lot of infertility work in our office. If you do not become pregnant after a year, I would consult a GYN that also specializes in infertility. If you do have to do IUI (in uterine insemination) make sure that they do it two days in a row. Many places will only do one insemination, but your chances are so much greater if you do it two days in a row during your most fertile time. Also, be sure to check out your husband (sig. other) sperm count. It is the cheapest first step when dealing with infertility. If he has a low sperm count you may want to consider getting donor sperm. We see it all the time and when a couple gets pregnant after trying for a long time, they don't care where the sperm comes from. Good Luck to you both!!

Ovulation doesn't necessarily occur directly in the middle of your cycle. This idea comes from the 'average' cycle length being 28 days. For instance, my cycle is usually 31 days long but I usually ovulate on cycle day 18 and then I have a 13 day luteal phase (the part of your cycle after you ovulate). Also, don't take for granted that you will ovulate on the same day each cycle, unless you have a cycle that you can set your watch by this probably will not be the case.

The best (IMO) way to monitor your ovulation day is by charting. you take your temperature when you first wake up, every morning except on the days of your period. Once you've completed a cycle you'll be able to see a peak in your temperature on the days after you ovulate. You should also monitor your cervical mucus because this can often indicate impending ovulation

Once you have an idea on which days ovulation is likely to happy Ovulation Predicter Kits can help you pin point the days a little in advance.

There are free programs online (http://www.fertilityfriend.com) who can help you track and interpret your cycle.

measure on the calendar from your last day of your period to the first day of the next one, then find the middle 3 days, they should be the most fertile.
