Diffusion is defined as the movement of molecules from region of higher concentration to region of lower concentration.

A membrane could can either be permiable or impermiable. I am going to assume that the membrane in this question is permiable.

So because of the permiability of the membrane in this question, there will be movement of molecules of the high concentrated substance to region where its concentration isn't high until such a point when the concentration of the molucules on both sides of the membrane will be the same and hence all movement will stop.

Therefore in the light of the above explanation, B is the right answer - eventually becomes balanced on both sides of a membrane.

Good luck.

diffusion is the process in which water moves in the cell so that the conc. of diff. substances become balanced on both side of the membrane. So ur opt. 'b' is correct.
giving u n exampl t understand:
put sugar sol" of high conc. in a bottle & covr it with a thin peice of cloth. now put it inverted in a beaker/ bowl having plain water & observe the result.
Here ur bottle is the cel & cloth behaves like membrane
