War of 1812, US vs. Britain. US Congress declared war on June18, 1812. Peace Treaty signed on Dec 24, 1814, Britain was defeated, where 6 or more of their battleships were either destroyed and captured.
May 13, 1846, US declared war against Mexico. Main reason land dispute in Texas. Peace Treaty signed on Feb. 2,1848 ending the war. Mexico ceded to USA, claims in Texas, California
and other territory.
