I am not familiar with rules and regulations on that sort of thing,i was just wondering,why women arent playing football either,

There are no women playing professional football right now for one reason. There aren't any women good enough. Women are certainly allowed to play, however they'd have to earn a spot on the team. I think if a woman were ever to appear in the NFL, she'd be a kicker of some sort. As far as referees, I think that's simply because no women have yet climbed the ranks in refereeing to approach the experience level required to ref an NFL game. It's nothing sexist, women have just not gotten to that level yet.

There has been a lot of women that have played on the high school level. I think it would be great to see a woman play college or even pro football. Actually I'll bet that a woman who has played soccer, would make a great kicker/punter. It'll be interesting, maybe one will someday. I don't see any reason why a woman couldn't be a ref, I'm actually suprised that none have been.
Footbal is a very physical sport, rough wise, and those guys are BIG dudes, but there have been women hockey players on the pro level.

Women don't play Football, so i think they figure how can a woman officiate a game they never play. I mean, i dont know if i agree with it. But the sports that woen do play have female Officials. Hockey, Basketball, Soccer... but Baseball and football dont have any female leagues, so maybe thats why there are no women officiating them. But I also think a good bit of it has to do with Men not wanting women officiating "man sports", ya know?

I believe most refs are former football players. Since women are strongly discouraged from playing football, there's no pool of female ex-players to draw from.

Some football referees ARE women, I believe, as are the dallas cowbouys offensive linemen.....

Because if women were allowed on the field they would either grab the butts of the athletes running around in spandex (or it would be the other way around!)
Either way, nobody wants those distractions when you're trying to score (a touchdown).

society seems to still think women are too fragile to deal with such a sport. I disagree. It;s fine that women don't officiate men's sports, but there definitely should be more leagues and sports opportunities for women these days.
