Yes. Where I live you can wait 4 or more weeks to see a doctor if it's not extremely urgent. If it is urgent, but not life threatening, you need to ring every hour to see if there's been any cancellations, that's the only way you'll get in. We need to plan our illness' in advance here! Needless to say, there is a lot of self diagnoses and trips to the pharmacist for advice!

Of course. It may be to save on doctor's fees, but in my case it is simply because I've had such bad experiences with doctors not listening to my complaint or taking my pain seriously. It gets to the point where you don't even want to be seen by a doctor unless it's an emergency. You begin to feel like cattle in a factory, being rushed in, being rushed out. And when you leave, you're unsatisfied because you still have the problem you came in with and wasn't take seriously. It's sad.

Good information is there and the doctor fees are enormous. WHy waste their time on petty illness unless it becomes severe.

Very good question! The answer is yes, and that's a good thing provided you are educated and do research. The doctor does not always know what's best.

no.

fine, yes.
you're asking what you already know,
of course people tend to self diagnose,
which makes for a ton of incorrect diagnoses.

but - it also makes for a ton of (more) informed people that can better help themselves and others.

in conclusion, for health issues, doctors know best

No what I have noticed though is that they seem to think everything is a big propblem then they look it up and go wow! I have such-and-such!
Then they rush to the doc's only to find out it's somthing simple!
