According to Yahoo news, vegemite hasn't been banned and it was just some sort of mixup.

Yes well it does seem a little strange especially since follate can help some people. If they can all go around eating fatty donuts for breakfast what harm is a little follate. Personally I can't stand vegemite but I feel sorry for those who do.

What makes you think we were ever pro-USA?(just joking)
But seriously, no I'm not offended because it has been banned in the US. I think it's a bit silly, vegimite is a great source of folate which is neccessary to healthy fetal growth, but hey whatever.
Have you ever tried it?
It is an aquired taste and even some Aussies don't like it.
But to ban it? That just seems extreme.

just goes to show how stupid the american food standards are over there!!! vegemite has been around for over 40 years, and they have only JUST NOW decided it doesn't meet their standards??? i am SO GLAD i live in australia!! it's almost laughable that they only allow folate be put into breads and cereal, considering folate is a basic daily requirement. i guess the government think a big mac meal every day is having a balanced diet!

I've never really been Pro-US. I think it's a load of bullshit that they have banned vegemite.

I'm just glad I don't plan on visiting. I wasn't born in Australia, but I love the stuff, and I'd be lost without it to have on my toast in the morning.
