Normally when you sign up for DSL, the provide you with a DSL modem and you connect using a cable, but they can provide a wireless router for an extra fee, or you can buy one at a store.

Just be aware that SBC/AT&T's speedstream DSL modems by default aren't configured to allow use of a 3rd- party routers, and lots of people have been banging their heads against the walls, thiking their routers were defective.

It's easy to change, here's the link:

You need a wireless adapter and (wireless router or wireless modem). Since you can have signals, means your system have an adapter.

You only need to get the wireless router then..see if there is any plan that can give you free wireless router as a package.

Cheers!

You can have Yahoo install the network for you, if you are unsure about doing it yourself. You need a wireless router and a wireless card for your computer. If you have a newer laptop it may already have a wireless card. You can find this out by right clicking on My Network and you will see to LAN connections. Go to cnet.com they have a good guide on setting up a secure network using encryption, mac filtering.

if you are planning to avail dsl under ATT just purchase a modem/router (2wire modems thats from ATT) and emphasized to the sales dept that you are planning to have wireless connection....and you need a wireless card for that
if you have detected a signal from somewhere else your PC might have a wireless card installed
to check on adapters installed just access control panel>>system>>click hardware and access device manager>>your ethernet and wireless card will show under network adapters link...

You'll need a wireless router and a wireless adapter.

Basically, it's just plug and play unless you wanted more control over your network.

You can configure wireless encryption, firewall, port triggering/forwarding, etc. over at your router firmware. You should be able to access your router firmware through the IP 192.168.0.1 using your internet browser.
