ALEXANDRA
Gender: Female
Root: ALEXANDER
Origin: Greek
Meaning: Protector of Men
In popularity it ranked #37 in the US, #71 in the UK and #60 in Sweden in 2004.
In Germany, where I'm from, the name Alexandra has been very popular since the Middleage, still ranking #28 today.
I find the name beautiful and not redneck/white trash at all.

I like the name Alexandra, I think it is Russian name but I'm not sure. Alexandra sounds rich and strong. It is common name in Europe.
But I personally like short names like: Pia, Mia, Nina, Nika, Kim, Karina...

I dont think it is that common or trashy at all. My husbands middle name is Alexander, the guy form of Alexandra, and I dont think his name his trashy either, allthough I do think his is more common. I think Alexandrea is a beutiful name.
