REP and Dems don't want to fix the problem because they want the Hispanic voters to vote for them. Also, our southwest economy has become somewhat dependent on Mexican labor. Politicians are masters of compromise. ("how do we approach this situation to garner the most votes for our respective parties".?)

Quit blaming the "government" as an institution, and place the blame squarely where it belongs, on the truly responsible part of government, which is ALL OF US WHO CAN VOTE.
The government is only able to do what they are allowed to do, or get away with based on the input (voting) by the public. Want it changed? Get involved! 1 person can make a difference, and before you say they can not, think about George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Rosa Parks or Martin Luther King, Jr. They made the 1st move, by themselves, then got more people involved. And what do you know, things started to change. Complacency by the masses gives more volume to the minority. Seems to go against our Founding Fathers' desires and the sacrifices they made for a democratic state.
So, how much are YOU willing to do about it? How much money are you willing to spend for solid walls running coast to coast along our borders? How about for 24hr per day heavily manned border patrols? Where did you get the info about people from Canada? Why don't Americans vote, en mass, for candidates who will do what they are voted in to do? And then, why don't Americans vote people out who do not do what they said they would? Specifically, why do so many Americans decide not to vote at all?

#1 SPEAK FOR YOURSELF! I am american and proud. I have a Canadian wife with a daughter, and am of mexican/native american descent. Our country was founded on illegal immigrants genius! After all, the british/pilgrims didnt arrive here first! #2 Not all americans want what you want, so if you want to deport ALL immigrants, then you are going to have to cut your own lawn, cook and clean your own meals at restaurants, build/repair your own home, pick your own fruits and vegtables that you probably have in your fridge right now, and all the other menial/tedious tasks that illegal immigrants perform. #3 if you want to kick all the people that were not here originaly here, then you would have to pack your stuff and get out since the native americans were here first! #4 The hispanic population will soon be the majority in the nation, so if you dont like it, there are plenty of other countries to choose from. Just for your information, if you were to take the millions of dollars that the u.s. spends on stopping illigal immigrants from entering and instead spent that money on probationary visa programs with work visas, DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH REVENUE THAT WOULD GENERATE FROM TAXES FROM WAGES, HOME, CARS ETC.!? We would actually have a much lower the debt for the entire nation if all these illigal immigrants paid taxes like the rest of us. The program would have to weed out immigrants that were for example criminals, on welfare for a number of years, and just not overall productive for our society. So think before you speak next time!

It's all about money and power. Illegals depress wages. This benefits the corporations the politicians feed off. The depressed wages and the diluting of the culture also serve to diminish the middle class and its political and social power.

One party sees them as voters for their party. They want them to remember that they didn't kick the out or toss them in jail for breaking the law and then they give them the same rights as those who were born in this country.
