The personality and morals of the world back then were much different than they are today. This world is going nowhere fast.

I agree with everyone else about the type of movies they are putting out anymore too much blood, sex and where do they get the ideas? from some backdoor to hell? Even Bela Lagose who played Dracula was super scary back then and it didn't require all the throat ripping. The movies were better, cleaner and the actors actually looked like they shaved once in awhile. BUT.. I'm a big fan of Pitrates of the Caribbean, Sean Connery, LOTR and similar movies. Maybe it also has alot to do with the producers. If they demand the best then the movies are good.

movies now are made in color and show graphic depictions of violence and sex. The movies had to get increasingly edgier and racier to compete with television. I personally prefer older movies, plus im a 1940's buff so i think movies were much better than the crap hollywood churns out these days.

Analog and digital. Actual film tape back then, microchips now. Much of today's modern equipment is digital. It's easy to edit, tranfer, and finish. Instead of years to make a film, it might take one click of a computer mouse to release the movie. Who knows? There are still people, scripts, and settings.

now I'm sorry but that's kind of a stupid question, you didn't list a single thing that you would like to compare between the 2.
But don't you think the image ...the color is different itself...afffff

One thing is the actors were better. The film, camera, sound and lighting are much better now.
