I have tried numerous over-the-counter products, prescription medicine, and facial treatments... none of which have actually yielded significant results. A friend suggested acupuncture as a solution. Can anyone testify to this?

Acupuncture may be a viable treatment, depending on the cause of your acne. There's really no way to tell if it will help you, unless you try it.

I assume you have seen a specialist rather than just a plain old doctor? Do you have acne or rosacea? Both produce zits and can look similar. Using acne products on rosacea can make it much worse, because rosacea is a sign that your skin is extremely sensitive and acne products tend to be pretty harsh even for normal skin.

If you are not sure, it may be worth dumping all your treatments and buying unscented products for sensitive skin for a while. Rosacea is aggravated by sunlight so keep out of the sun, too.

There are a lot of factors that contribute to acne, some are hormonal which stress can contribute to, along with bacterial infection. If acupuncture reduces your stress level it could assist, however the most important methods of controlling acne are overall bodily health, i.e. exercise, eat healthy and clean your body. The time at which your body experiences the highest hormonal levels and stress are during the teenage years, so if this is pertaining to your concern, do whatever you think will assist.

Acupuncture works on the principle of the nervous system. Acne isn't part of the nervous system but from the skin.

Smart thing to do is what millions of others do daily.....see a dermatologist.

Lo primero es no sentirse acomplejado. Lo que te pasa se llama “rosácea”, y es una enfermedad muy común que tiene fácil solución.
Muchos famosos padecen de rosácea, y no ves que ello interfiera con su vida diaria. ¿Alguna vez has visto a Mariah Carey no ser divina? Pues ella la sufre.
Métete aquí y sigue la guía, te librarás de la rosácea enseguida.
