I had a new carb put on my 1987 Dodge Dakato and a new battery, also my motor has been rebuilt, and it is still hard to start in the mornings. Someone, help me please!

try spraying a shot of starting fluid in the carb.....pretty good stuff...how cold is it ?

if you pump the peddle to much it will flood just try to start it with a slight touch on the pedel if the carb is letting to much gas in on a cold morning the gas will not atomize and it will just slap against the intake manifold metel and starv the cylinders for gas and you have no gas reaching the spark plug and no go it may need to be leaned out check by looking down the throat of the carb with a flash light and see if gas is dripping a lot of lose fuel

try changing the oil and put in new spark plugs also use 5 weight oil thats 5 w 30 it will severly help on cold morning i had the same issue with alo9t of my old cars and the carb makes it even worse jus something u gonna have to deal with man we all went through this if u bought a older model car doa thoruough oil change like change the filter twice once then let it run for a half hour the shut it down and take it off andf put another one on it will get all the dirt that your oils been clinging on to oh yeah change the wires in it that always helps

You probadly need to have the choke re-calibrated so it closes, and then opens slightly when the engine fires. The "cold idle" might have to be turned up a little.

place a plugged in light with a warm bulb on the ground under the dodge all night and see if it cranks in the morning.

timing timing timing have the timing checked and reset also check fuel pressure and replace fuel and air filters start with the basics hope this helps

sorry but older more used engines will just start more difficult or it could be ur oil or gas arent mixed right for colder weather or maybe low on anti-freeze.

Best thing to do is don't drive it on cold days.
