I miss my '89 Honda Civic...only got rid of it because my mother gave me her '97 Ford Taurus a few years ago. Last February I wrecked it and now drive my bf's '84 Toyota Corrola. The Honda was sportier but I think the Toyota costs less to maintain overall even though I spent over $1000 on repairs, tune-up and tires in August/September.

Toyota Corrolla!!
Several years ago I was driving a Corrolla '96 on a highway where the speed limit is 65 mph. Out of nowhere this car comes racing down the highway AGAINST TRAFFIC, IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. They hit my car in a head-on collision. One person in their car died immediately, and the other was in a coma for a few years and then passed. I got out of the accident with some cuts and scratches and a knee injury that has since then completely healed.
The Toyota Corrolla is lauded for being a safe car, and I completely agree! My old Toyota was completely totaled in that accident, and now I drive a Toyota Corrolla '99.

Toyota has more credibilty and standard features. Honestly I wouldn't pick either, I'd pick a Nissan Sentra if you're talking 05-07! As far as new 07's I'd pick the Sentra SL way before the overpriced Civic or Corolla!

Loved my Honda Civic. I had it for 6 years and it never ever broke down or had any problem. After that I traded it in and got a $5600 trade in and bought a new Accord!!! And I love that even more.
