The best thing you can do is make sure you get enough rest the night before an all nighter...if that doesn't work keep reminding yourself how important getting this particular task done. Don't let yourself be distracted by things like Yahoo Answers and such!!

Don't over do the caffenine though because then you're body will get worn out trying to process it and it will affect your brains ability to focus.

Remember...stay awake now...do what you can and then get a nap and get up really early to finish the work or finish studying.

It's an important part of your future. You'll get used to it before you know it though...all nighters are just the begining

They still make Jolt Soda? Where? That's awesome! LOL.

Another thing you can do is get some fresh air. Take a walk..preferably with a friend...moving around will wake you up a little too....eat something too because the food will give your body energy without hitting it with caffenine...take a cold shower too...that works....I knew all the tricks....

No-Doz, Red Bull, Cigarettes, and this is the most important one a 5-10 minute for every 20 minutes of work. Your brain normally can only focus on one task for 15-20 minutes after that it starts to wander (you may or may not realize it) thats why they suggest to teachers not to keep kids on one task for more than 20 minutes, and this is when you are fully rested. So unles you took an 8 hour nap before you started you are more likely to "wander" while working for long periods. also have some kind of noise (if you are in a place where it is possible) too quiet of a place and you will be out like a light in no time but however too noisy and you wont be able to study/work properly......Oh one more thing welcome to college, it only gets worse as you go. I'm a senior in my 5th year and there are days when i have stayed up 60 hours straight getting projects, papers, and studying for exams done. I ended up passed out for 3 days from utter exhaustion (thank god i passed out after classes on a friday so i didnt miss any of my riveting school)

Taking my ADHD medications in the evening instead of the morning! Avoid milk or dairyp products as they may make you sleepy as warm milk has a warming effect. Putting some loud music in headphones works too. Be careful not to eat any heavy food as it will make you sleepy too. If you must take in snacks and sugar filled soda, do it gradually. That will keep you awake and prevent you from crashing! Also get up and walk around as a brief study break wherever you feel appropropriate. That way, you can be assured of nor falling asleep too soon! Good Luck

Try another caffeine drink, and open windows to keep the temperature cool. I used a kitchen timer set for and hour. Once the buzzer went off, I washed my face, walked and stretched for a little bit and then reset the timer, repeated as needed.

Don't stay up all night...the studying doesn't help you if you're exhausted the next day. Change your schedule. Get out of work. Remember this is the reason you're there; to do well--don't let your boss give you any crap about needing time off. And if you are doing work-study, they will definitely understand.

I know that it is hard but you should really keep on top of your schoolwork so that you don't have to pull all-nighters. Your brainpower drops immensely with severe lack of sleep. I have heard that it is worse than being drunk. I admit though that sometimes all-nighters are unavoidable. Here are some things I do:
Snacks; lack of food will drain your energy and make it difficult to concentrate.
Naps: even if it only for 5-min it will help you stay awake.
Constantly reminding yourself what is at stake. Imagine sitting down to your test with confidence that you know the course material well.
Bits of light exercise and fresh air; get up and get your blood circulating.
