it's actually almost required of a hip-hop artist to run afoul of the law to retain their street credibility once every 18 months.
it's the only explanation, most of these artists have managers and handlers keeping them out of most trouble, and if they are from the street I would think they wouldn't want to jeopardize their newfound better life...

To like rap music does not mean you have to idolize the rapper. I like Snoop's music, but some of the things he does are not smart, but he has done a lot for charities and other things.
