We don't attract anybody. It's a hopeless cause because even the open minded less popular girls are picked up by jerks who have mastered the shy appearance. the genuinely shy guy know better than to try and talk to a nice girl becuase, as usual, the good ones are always taken. then, after befriending said girl, she only talks to you about her relationship problems with her jerk boyfriend. after she finally breaks up with the jerk, she declares herself a lesbian, thereby destroying any chance of you being with her.

I think shy people tend to attract kind understanding people as well as louder pushy people who want to control them and to stop acting shy you could be outgoing? i don't really understand the second part...to not attract ceratin people act differently?
