The Cubs need pitching and to patch up some serious holes in thier line up. If they are relying on Lee to match up to his 05 numbers ROFL.. Good luck. That was either a fluke or he's juicing and going ot get caught doing it. Way too obvious. Barret and Jones are substandard at thier posisitions. The cubs have a few youngsters they are breaking in so having defensive holes like that is a real problem.

The big problem is pitching. Woods if the Cubs hang on to him is Russian roulette. Zambrino is a good pitcher but he's really a #2 or #3 kind of pitcher and the Cubs have no stopper kind of starter like Pettite or what Rogers did for the Tigers this year. Dempster was a disaster at closer. There are other problems. Pinella is a good manger but unless the Cubs make some good off season moves they are not going anywhere. They might find a sucker for Lee and get a decent pitcher for em.

As for the Tigers. They played over thier heads all year. Some of those guys had career years. Shelton was half the offense the first half. Pudge and Leyland kept the team motivated. Youngsters came out of nowhere to have good rookie seasons. Still the team showed alot by almost not making the post season after rolling through the season. The Tigers will be hard pressed to repeat this year. It's possible. Pudge prob still has a few more good years in him. Verlander might get even better. Rogers, he never has two good seasons back to back. Except for Polanco the infield is a mess. Nah I doubt you'll see either in the WS next year. Asking for both is asking for a miracle.

The Cubs would have to do a complete overhaul of their team before they could make it the World Series I actually think a Series between the Reds and the Tigers would be sweeter.

properly, i think of that the Chicago White Sox will pass returned to the international series through fact they nevertheless have the stable offense and the superb pitching workforce.as some distance through fact the national League, i think of that the Cardinals will pass returned yet on condition that the resign Jeff Suppan, Chris chippie, and Jeff Weaver. i'm uncertain if Mark Mulder would be a loose agent yet he could be a large addition to the commencing rotation

I think the Cubbies best option would be to woo Jim Leyland away from the Tigers and I don't want THAT to happen! I'd love to see the Cubs do well. Almost as much as I LOVE this year!

GO TIGERS!

You know I'm a Sox fan, but the Tigers have put together a real serious team. But the Cubs ? The Cubbies? The "Manilla folders"? Sorry, isn't going to happen.

Give me the Cubs pitching line up, don't even think about putting Woods on it. Then I would consider your question.
