Having had 2 miscarriages last year, I can only talk about what I went through, there may or may not be a huge amount of discharge to begin with, but any bloody discharge is cause for concern, being sick suddenly and back pain could be signs but I would be looking more for any signs of discharge. Get your friend to the doctors where she can be examined...hope all goes well for her.

The signs can vary depending on how far along she is. If it's early, like less than 16 weeks, she'll most likely be throwing up or at least feel like it, bleed alot, cramp intensely, have fever, and generally just "feel bad." Sort of like your worst period day ever, times 10. The biggest sign would be the heavy bleeding, of course.

If she is farther along, then she would have most of the above symtoms, plus she probably wouldn't feel the baby move anymore.

If she's concerned but not having any symptoms, then she needs to call her doctor right away. If she IS having symptoms of a miscarriage, then she needs to go to the ER right now. Really, don't wait around for more opinions; take her now or call an ambulance.

Good luck.

If your friend is pregnant and is worried she might be miscarrying..please tell her to call her doctor right away. Or take her in yourself! These are some symptoms of a miscarriage...
>spotting
>passing blood clots or tissue
>decreased breast tenderness
>no fetal movement
>no heart sounds
>cramping
>vaginal bleeding
I think there are others, but these ones were the ones listed. I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy, and I was bleeding the whole time. I had very bad cramps also. Almost like really bad gas. So just if she's worried, please have her go in if only for her own peace of mind. I'll be thinking of you and your friend and hoping everything is okay.

Cramps and back pain are a sign of miscarriage, but neither is necessarily a sign of miscarriage. Back pain in pregnancy is common.

The main sign of a miscarriage (or threatened one) is bleeding or spotting.

Your friend really needs to go to the emergency room and get checked out if she thinks she's about to have a miscarriage and if she's at all far along.

It will depend on how you're defining "mild." If you will have streaks of purple or brown combined with mucus to your panties, that is no longer precisely "bleeding." Your mucus plug might be transferring. If you notice any shiny purple streaks or spots that retain to develop after exchanging your panties, search clinical aid instantly. It is viable to have a miscarriage and not using a discomfort whatever. Severe bleeding will also be precipitated through separation of the placenta from the uterine wall (abruptio placentae). What the heck, name your surgeon; she or he is aware of your case great. Your age, ordinary well being, behavior...most of these and extra have bearing in your gynecological well being. Don't take any probabilities.

How far along is she? That's scary! The symptoms are spotting,
passing blood clots or tissue, decreased breast tenderness, no fetal movement, cramping, and vaginal bleeding. If she is having any of these symptoms she needs to go to the hospital. Good luck!

How far along is she? maybe her insides are just getting prepared for the baby, you know everthing inside strecthes or maybe the baby is just sitting on a nerve, if she was having a miscarriage she would be bleeding.
