first of all, i have to ask some questions- has your eyesight always been poor, or is it a fairly recent development? and also, have you vistited an eye doctor? this is a priority. If you work at a computer for a long time, or something such as painting, etc. Then your long distance vision can be compromised over time. You can do eye exercises several times a day to help with this. start just once in the AM and build up over a week, so that you don't strain your eyes. Here's how you do them. sit in a chair facing a window- focus on a faraway object- try to focus on it for 1 minute. then hold up one finger and focus on the tip at arms length. slowly move your finger toward the space between your eyes- keep it in focus until you feel slight tension in your eyes. Move your finger back to arms length, then change your focus back to the faraway object. repeat 5- 10 times in a cycle. do this a few times a day. Also take breaks every couple of minutes to look outside, and change your focus a little.

The jury is out on this one. People used to say that doing a lot of reading or computer work didn't damage your eyesight. However, now they think that it does, at least for younger people. These findings come from a study of why young Japanese children have much higher rates of short-sightedness than average.

The damage seems to happen when you focus at one distance for a long time - for instance, if you read a book or stare at a computer screen for hours. What you must do to prevent the damage, is to look up every ten minutes or so. Look at a point in the distance, the further away the better. Ideally, you should be sitting near a window so that you can look at something outside - the other wall of a small room isn't far enough.

There is nothing that can be done to stop the progression of your eyes aging, so your worsening eyesight is probably just normal, though spending too much time on the computer doesn't help. Take the time to look away from the screen every ten minutes, and this will help rest your eyes and help you keep the ability to adjust your focus from near objects to far ones. Otherwise, eyesight problems are generally hereditary or caused by old age or health problems (nothing young people usually have to worry about).

If you haven't already go to see the opthamologist and get some glasses while reading or on the computer can really make a difference and maybe help them from getting worse stigmatism generally gets better after wearing glasses when needed like reading etc Good Luck

You can try eye exercises to improve your vision. My eyesight is 20/400, which is really bad. I recently started doing eye exercises to try to improve my vision. I created a blog where I record my progress with the exercises.

I recently saw some improvement. Other people (who have also experienced improvements) have posted comments about their experiences as well. You can check it out at: http://improvingmyeyesight.com/blog
