is it possible to give items or money 2 other people in your caravan in single player mode?

yes, i have done it, but you need to use multiplay mode. you can't leave stuff lying around for the other characters.
you need to put a GBA in the second player slot, and start a multiplay game on your game file. load both players, select an item to drop, or gold or whatever, and pick it up with your other guy.
then save, and you can either restart the game to single player, or you can go to the character selection screen and don't touch the second controller (gba - on or off) and it will only load the player that picked a character to an area.

Yes, on your GBA screen, go to items, then select the item you want, then hit A, then an option on there will be to drop. Simple.
