If you are in California, the chances are that it is illegal..Most exotics are there..

Do this before you bring the squirrels across state lines. No one wants to see his pets taken away and put into quarantine!
We moved from home to another state. The cops came in and took one of our snakes, it was illegal to have there.....
We moved back home......without of course our snake which we were told the zoo was going to sell off for they did not no how to care for it properly. Like du it is a snake we owned since it was tiny (we bought it from the breeder). The zoo also had the age wrong....
Do not let this happen to your friends squirells....

I know with most pets you have to have an interstate health certificate on them to move from state to state. You should be able to call a veterinarians office and they should be able to lead you in the right direction of who to contact in the matter of the squirrels. If you have a Banfield Veterinary Hospital in your area I would contact them first, if not you can find a hospital near you by going to their website at banfield.net and be able to get a phone number.

I'd ask it as a general question and then sneak the squirrels here if they say no. It's not like they run around the neighborhood or anything, right? I love squirrels myself.
The animal control officer in your town can probably answer the question for you.

CHECK WITH A LOCAL VETERINARIAN. THEY WILL ALSO KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY SHOTS OR PAPERWORK REQUIRED BEFORE THEY ARE BROUGHT INTO YOUR STATE.
