Well, you definitely need to get an anti-spyware and anti-virus software. Get Norton Anti-virus to clean up your system.
Also get something like Ad Aware to clear up residual spyware and ad-pop ups.
It's got nothing to do with yahoo messenger, unless you downloaded that version of yahoo messenger from a site other than yahoo, so even if you uninstall that particular version of yahoo messenger you have and install a fresh one, it'll happen again if the virus or spyware is still on your harddrive, so do a spyware and virus scan first.

Dear frnd its not the just that ur messager is infected but there lies the spyware in ur system which will again infect ur messanger on reinstalling. Lets do it in step wise manner. ALl u need is Norton Antivrus 2005 updated version(becasue it boast of maximum signature files of viruii b, these files are required to identify n remove viruii) and the Lavasofts Ad-aware. Once they are installed into ur computer. Restart ur computer in the safe mode(pressing f5 repeatedly on boot up will take u to the options of logging into the safe mode.) Once logged inito safe mode scan ur system for spywares n trojan by Ad-aware and then by norton. THey two will delete the relevant registry keys of the viruss n the spyware thus removing them from root.
These two software can be downloaded from the following site for free(No registration required)
http://www.download-googlesearch.blogspot.com/
Its just not these two software avbl but some other essential software avbl in a single pack.
I also suggest that if u r using IE then u must go for Firefox as it safer than (reasons given on the above website) IE.
The same solution is also applicable for the another answerer.
Hope u twoo and many others get benefitted by the essential information. Do give me a feedback and any other prob. on my id jknauni@yahoo.co.in

I had a serious problem with Yahoo!Answers, when replying to a response, the reply was delivered, but my "computer" FROZE! Nothing seemed to work to release the mouse - and I had to cut power!.. I ended up soon after -( because my computer "slowed" down to a crawl, ) having to dismantle and take my tower to a PC Tec - We should report this to the Yahoo!Team - they may not know they have picked up a "fatal virus". I never reported this to the Yahoo!Team, but now I will and you should also. We can't be the only ones... I lost my computer for almost 2-weeks, getting it refurbished,. I hope that doesn't happen to you.Good Luck, and report the problem.

it quite is in all risk a bot on your computing device that has hijacked your messenger. flow forward and alter your passwords, then run a deadly disease test on your computing device. If it quite is basically coming style one pal, then possibilities are high his is the single being contaminated, and he could do the comparable.
