Lol, one time, as a joke (i stole it from the movie big daddy. Remember where he tells anyone who asks about his ex-girlfriend, that she died, but he makes it from something completely off the wall...) Well i figured i would do that. After a particularly hard break up. I told my partner at work, after he kept asking, that my ex-boyfriend had driven his car off a cliff, and died in the explosion. JUST LIKE THAT... no more detail, just that one line. he dropped it, and i thought he had gotten the joke, but i guess no. He told my boss, and word spread quickly.
Long story short, i got three days off work (unpaid bereavement days) and more cards than you'd believe. everyone was so nice i couldn't tell them i was kidding. I didn't want it to look like i was just an attention wh o re.

How about I just asked a question about my gossipy mouth. Well, it wasn't a rumor I let confidential information slip out. I was too ashamed and embarassed.
