The neighbors use an air horn to scare them off. Is there a quieter way to get rid of the birds. I'm about to go and tell them a thing or two. And that is saying it gently

Oh my GOD!! An Air horn!!
I have to say that if those Crows are Used to an Air horn... The usual things to scare them off may not work now!
What are the neighbors thinking.. an AIR HORN????
That would happen 1 time and Id be on it.. so you are doing well to have dealt so far!
Typical ways to deter crows.. are fake owls wher ethey like to land.. the moving owls are best...
Cheap fixes are tying plastic grocery bags to the landing areas.. secure them well and allow them to rattle and blow in teh breeze.. they HATE it
Also wind chimes that reflect and move ..

Too funny... I have a mental image of this Air horn going off at teh crack of dawn!
Also.. what do they care if the crows are there???
You might tell them to put away outdoor foods that attract them like bird seed til they go away...
THey only come around for food.
Of course if they dont want to stop ith the horn... you can always wait until about 2am and blow your own horn near thier bedroom window!!! ooo sorry was scaring away a racoon, or a dog , cat etc...
Might make them realize HOW rude what they are doing is!

Depending on the "Black Birds" there might be various methods.
When getting rid of birds places tend to put up a fake owl or put in a special box that makes a kind of chirping sound. It wouldn't be as annoying to have the chirping sound but would likely scare off ALL birds. You might also want to look into attracting predators for the birds,.. but that's why people use Plastic Owl statues.
If your just mad at your neighbors and don't care about the birds, you could contact the police and say it's disruptive and some times like sound polution.
I could say some other things,.. but most importantly as annoying as you think this is,.. it's not as bad as what MOST PEOPLE go through. On top of that if these are certain "Black Birds" and you have certain "Pets" (even Cats and Dogs) they might attack the criiters in the neighborhood... EVEN YOURS,.. posibly KILL THEM.
Maybe your Neighbors have noticed such problems and are keeping the neighborhood safe, even if you don't know about it.
Go talk to your neighbors.

Oh, geez, if this wasn't so terrible for you, it would really be funny. Sorry that I laughed. Try setting up feeding stations for them a mile down the road. They're probably hanging out because your neighbors are feeding the birds - desirable birds. Most towns have noise ordinances. If you keep calling the cops, maybe they'll stop.

I have blackbirds that come every morning and evening...they have a beautfiful song. I cannot believe that anyone would shoot pellet guns at them or sound an air horn...........Your neighbor thinks that his noise pollution is better than a bunch of birds chirping?..........the animals on this earth were here first...we have been encroaching on them for hundreds of years and it's escalating with every year.............questions like these make me sad (not to mention, sick).

They do not like moving objects you have probably seen streemers in trees and that's to keep birds away. They make helium balloons to tie to trees to scare away birds. They also don't like pictures of eyes either (or anything shaped like an eye). Birds are generally paranoid.a fake owl or hawk probably won't do the trick.

i think a BB gun or a pellet gun is much quieter plus it's guaranteed those damn birds won't be coming back.

you want to scare the birds right? gotta be loud... I do it to, use the lid of my grill... my car looks like a reverse dalmation if I don't..

What they are doing is illegal, unless they are ranching and protecting crops..Call local authorities...that is noise polution.
