Well, for those of you who answered with "I would put a date on when to pull our troops out," Well, guess what, not only would the terrorists proclaim an early victory, they would simply sit around and wait until we left before getting the upper hand and taking over. The latter condition in Iraq would be far worse than it is now if you slap a date on when to withdraw troops.

That doesn't make sense... Tell the terrorists (the enemy) when you'll be leaving? Basically, announcing to them ahead of time on when you plan to "give up". To them, they see your date of withdrawl as the day you plan on holding a white flag up. If you planned on pulling out in as early as 6 months, why not just skip the 6 months and pull out the next day? What point do those 6 months make? Those 6 months don't "accomplish" anything unless you can provide stability there. Sure, we have to leave sometime, but not until there's obvious stability there. And I highly doubt that in 6 months from now that there's going to be stability there.
