Composite color is where the video signal is contained on a single wire. A composite monitor usually had a single RCA connector. The center conductor carried the video signal and the outer was ground. The input and output from most VCR's is composite, as well as the Video (yellow connector) on many DVD's. Composite simply means that all of the video signal is contained in one wire.
