Christmas Eve. I usually spend with family but a couple times in the past few years have been alone due work conflicts. Even the bars close early here on Christmas Eve, no where to go to see or meet people. Feel like a total loser watching "its a Wonderful Life" alone.

For me these last 5 years it's been Halloween, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Years Eve, New Years, Valentines, because my husband deploys to IRAQ/KUWAIT on 6 month rotations and he always leaves in Oct and returns in April/May. Put it this way our son is 10 and the last time we had any of those holidays together our son was 4 :(

Valentine's Day because that's when my mother died. And Bastille Day because that's when my father did. Heck of a way to remember a holiday. Otherwise I enjoy all holidays.

WOW. Sorry for all the pain you all have experienced. I am really sincerely sorry and feeling for you all about that.

But I am coming from a different angle. Tradition in my Grandma's then my Mom's house dictated TOO MUCH TOO MUCH TOO MUCH cooking the 48 hours before Thanksgiving. There was no dinner food known to man we didn't have to prepare. It was just too much.

Things are better now and guess what. I cook too much food for Thanksgiving. lol

CHRISTMAS. The two weeks leading up to Christmas makes me want to go somewhere and hide. Just put me in a closet and shut the door.
