where do tv stations get their traffic reports?

Here in the SF/ Bay Area we have cameras on the freeways, so a lot of reports they get are from those. The major news channels here all have their own helicopters so those are used as well. I would also assume that they get reports from the CHP about hazzards in the road and road closures

They subscribe to a company that gives them live feeds; very few stations have their own traffic copter
