Yes Yes Yes it is very possible. I am 39 and hubby 48 and we are trying for baby #1. I have PCOS so it has been a little more difficult for us but it is still very possible. People will tell you that you are at a higher risk for having a baby with Down Syndrome. This is partly true. You are at a higher risk however, 80% of babies born with Down Syndrome are born to women in their twenties. Don't give up and don't let the age-a-phobics discourage you. I'm not!! I ignore the idiotic responses from those people. Oh there was a lady in my doctor's office that was 50 and pregnant with her first. So it's never too late until you or God decide it is! Good luck TTC and baby dust to all

heck, yeah. i had baby #1 at 37, and baby #2 at 39. a good friend of mind just had her second at 42.
give it six months of trying to conceive naturally. you may want to get a basal thermometer to know when you're ovulating. after 6 months, if it's no go, then consult a specialist.

btw, when you do conceive, since you will be what they call Advanced Maternal Age, your trisomy (sp?) test will turn out weird and they'll tell you to get an amnio. the trisomy results will be weird because of your age, and your baby will most likely be fine. several of my friends are old mamas, too, and this all happened to us. so don't freak out. p.s. reading the pregnancy books can freak you out, too, cause they talk about all the stuff that COULD go wrong. so small doses of those.

Yes. I conceived at 40. We had tried for about 3 years, I had given up, and then I got pregnant. Men's fertility goes down too with age, but I don't think as much as women.

Good luck!

yes it's possible but it's not healthy for you to have children that late in age. you have the chance of having a baby with downs syndrome or any other mentally retardation. (not to be mean or anything)

I will say it is possible. See a doctor for advice, no stress and good health. Nothing in this world is impossible.
