Remember, you are watching fantasy at the movies or on tv. People are reading scripts. Half the time, they are not REALLY in an exciting place. Technology makes it look that way, tho. After the shoot, they go home, just like you and I. They get the flu, hives and upset stomachs like everyone else. They need escapes, too. So,guess what? They go the movies and watch tv.

Imagination has with it's pleasentness a stinging sense of realism that reminds you that it is in the end only your imagination.
There is a lot of spectacular things in the world and all sorts of fun to be had, but most of the time when we're all dealing with work and school or bullshit, seeing those things make me reach for a beer and a smoke as well.
Life just really isn't all it's cracked up to be since we spend a great deal of our time doing things we have to do, rather than what we want to do.
There is always the doubt that you could be doing any number of different things or that your life could have been far different if you had made a different choice in an important matter of your past, but you can make your life go in a different direction today. The cliche seems to hold true I'm afraid.

Two quick points.
A) what your experiencing is incredibly common. you have to ask your self, "if they made a movie about real life, who would watch it" Viewers are drawn in by the emotions they feel, wanting to experience whats going on in the plot. The wanting to know whats next, the wanting to feel loved, and the wanting to enjoy life. Unfortunately, real life for most of us does suck. its not like on Friends, where in an episode spanning one week, perhaps, one person, actually goes to work... people can all fly off to another state or country at the drop of a hat, and no matter what happens, everything ends up great a few days later. That's not real, and unless your born a prince or princess... will never happen to you... that being said>>>
B) Your right, life is what you make of it. but its also only going to get so good. I know, i will probably never be a billionaire. I wont ever have so much money that i can throw caution to the wind and do every last thing i ever wanted. I know i will never be in people magazine and America's sexiest man alive. yeah, that would be great, but they arn't going to happen. Making the most of your life doesn't mean changing your life into what you have always wanted. Its finding out how to make your (real) life, give you what you need to really be happy.
Please feel free to email me with anything else you want to talk about... and good luck finding what your looking for

I guess I used to feel like that, but reality is just NOT like the movies. I think the problem is that you are holding on to some hope that your life could actually be like that. It can't. Even if you were a celebrity, it wouldn't be like it is in the movies. There is a downside to every situation.
Besides, I don't need to be a hero, a professional athlete, or a movie star to have a good life. I'm happy with what i have.

What do you want to do? Do you want to sit on your couch and watch life go by, or do you want to participate? TV and movies are not reality. Not even "reality" shows are reality because the TV show gives you EXCERPTS, not minute-by-minute. You're STILL watching only what the director and the producers want you to see, and what THEY THINK will draw the most viewers. Yes, there IS a better life out there. And yes, you CAN be part of it.

Holy shiit, I honestly thought i was the only one...I do this with a lot of shows......Ive watched every single episode of every season almost every day till i run out of that series, for me it started with six feet under(which i never thought i could ever get into, but somehow i did), then the sopranos, then rescue me, then the shield...I rented from netflix and each episode of each series i always looked forward to seeing bc it gave me that illusion i was apart of the exciting and invigorating lifestyle. Hey, it might sound wierd to most of you but ill bet every person has a worse secret about getting away from reality. So dont hate. It surprisingly keeps me stable. Anywways, I can feel ya on this one bro.

totally dude.
yeah it's crazy cuz you're like, so into the movie and you feel like doing something about it or just being in it and then you blink or something and you're like, crap.
haha. yup. not the only one, bud.
but the thing with me is that i've wanted to be an actress, but we don't have the money for it :(
so i just stick with what i can, school plays and anything else that's similar.
but seriously, i've seen interviews with celebrities and stuff and life isn't all they say it is.
i mean you have to have this random dude guarding you so fans won't pummel you down. it gets craaaazy sometimes.
so i realize i better do stuff that i know will make my life worthwhile, and THAT way, i'll feel like i DO have an exciting life.
:)

Life is how you choose to, and I have no doubt in my mind about that. When I am unhappy, I am doing something wrong.
Maybe getting out of the range of the Idiot Box and doing something good for someone is a good start?

Yes, I have felt this way many times especially in romantic movies. Just go with the flow of life. Who knows, maybe something will happen sooner or later.

I get the same feeling when I read a book for pleasure.
I have to take my time, because if I read too fast, I get kind of bummed out whe the book is over.
BTW -
Life really is what you make of it, sorry but it's true!
