Let me give you the response from a "Bible Thumper":
While the Constitution guarantees the right to life and liberty to every person, the Supereme Court decreed that an unborn child is not a person, and in 1973 abortion was legalized. Since then, there have been millions upon millions of abortions and it is now the most frequently performed "operation" in the U.S. Just because something is legal, does that make it moral? While the Supreme Court doesn't see an unborn baby as a person, does God?
-"For Thou didst form my inward parts; Thou didst weave me in my mother's womb" (Psalm 139:13).
-"And now says the Lord, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, to bring Jacob back to Him" (Isaiah 49:5).
-"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations" (Jeremiah 1:5).
-"For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and he will drink no wine or liquor; and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, while yet in his mother's womb" (Luke 1:15).
-"But when He who had set me apart, even from my mother's womb, and called me through His grace" (Galatians 1:15).
The Bible makes it clear that an unborn baby is a person who is known by God. Besides the emotional, phychological, and physical complications that are so often connected with abortion, in the eyes of God, it is the murder of an innocent human being. The truth is, at conception, that single celled person we like to call an "embryo" contains his or her full complement of DNA (everything the full grown adult will be).
I have to agree with the bumper sticker I saw not too long ago: "As a former fetus, I oppose abortion." What if your mother would have had an abortion? What if the mother of Noah, Abraham, or Moses would have had an abortion? What if the mother of Jesus would have had an abortion?

Abortion is wrong for many reasons. (not going to mention morality or spirituality)
1. A baby's life is ended. Not a potential life, not a fetal mass or glob of tissue, but a human baby. Anyone who has seen an ultrasound or a movie about unborn babies can see this.
PETA screams bloody murder when unborn and born baby seals, fawns, whales, puppies, kittens and calves are killed. If those creatures are truly babies of their kind, even before their birth, then human babies are also.
2. Ending an unborn baby's life affects the mother, the father, and the grandparents. Grief counsellors will tell you of the years of sadness, depression, and feelings of loss people have as a result of an abortion.
3. Abortion has removed many many millions of people from active citizenship in not just the USA but the world since abortion was legalized in the USA in 1973 through the Roe vs Wade Supreme Court decision. These people are NOT paying taxes, or contributing to Social Security, or Medicare, or able to volunteer for the Armed Forces, or do anything to help our country. Most of the government's monetary problems can find their root in not enough people paying into the system. Hmmm... why is that?
4. Abortion is wrong because it promotes the idea that you can solve a problem and escape responsibility for your actions by killing someone and flushing away the evidence. The "free love" generation has covered up the guilt of their selfish lives and legislated away the need to take responsibility for their actions. They've also given permission for their children to get rid of the evidence of sexual activity so their own reputations aren't damaged, but at the loss of an innocent life.
5. Sometimes abortion is allowed with the reason that the health or life of the mother is at stake. What health? Her emotional state? Her financial health? Her educational welfare?
I have known only one instance where a woman's body was actually rejecting her unborn baby. Had she not aborted, both she and her baby would have died. This is a true medical oddity. The majority of women who claim such an exception are trying to salve their consciences.
6. There are so many childless couples who would gladly give a baby a home. They adopt foreign children into their lives and this is very good. Abortion robs these potential parents the chance to give unwanted children homes. That's how it was pre-Roe vs. Wade. Adoption works.

As a woman who had an abortion during my teen years, I must tell you how devastating it has been for me. It has been over 35 years ago but I still feel the emotional pain of knowing that I chose the easy way out instead of facing reality. I could have been the mother of a man or woman in their 30's, probably a grandmother to their children, but now those dreams are gone forever. Several years ago I was asked by my teen daughter to help her get an abortion so she could take advantage of a college scholarship; I told her she was not going to make an innocent child pay for her choice, that she could take off a year and use the scholarship later. Today that child is the love of my life, my granddaughter! If you are considering an abortion I hope you will pray for guidance to see you through pregnancy and birth, and ultimately life!

Murder - I believe abortion is murder - I believe that if you lay down - you have already made your decision - you chose to take a chance at becoming pregnant - accident or not - same as if you drink and drive - you made your decision - I also do not believe that women who are raped or claim to have been been raped should be allowed an abortion - not saying it was her fault, but it wasn't the baby's fault either and two wrongs do not make a right - there is always adoption and their are thousands of loving couples who would give everything for a baby and then you have girls going and having abortions - I also think that abortion should be illegal - many people talk about the girls having back alley abortions and dying, but if you die while trying to commit a murder - GOOD! you got what you deserved! Stop whining a grown woman who dies while murdering a completely innocent unborn child does not lay heavy on my heart at all - in fact it sounds like a good deterrent.

My opinion is Abortion should be of ones 'personal choice'.
Lets face it, Birth Control isnt 100%. So saying, 'close ya legs'.. is ridiculous. Things happen, and getting pregnant is one of them. Protection or not.. nothing is 100%... unless you just dont do it.
And if/when you do get pregnant.. and you know you cant handle it and you know you cant deal with it (rape victums), then there are options out there. If abortion, is your way of dealing with it.. then do it at an appropriate time. BEFORE it forms into a baby. Thats when i believe its to late to abort. Once its a child, THEN your taking a life. I couldnt have something like that on my conscience come Judgement Day!
I also believe God forgives and forgets... we're ALL sinners. He knows this. And i also dont see him, judging me 'harshly' if i had an abortion, for a good reason. He loves all...

As liberal and open minded as I am, the issue of abortion I do not believe involves women's rights or the privacy of their own bodies. The bottom line is once that fetus is breathing and has a heartbeat (whichever stage that may occur at), you are dealing with a living human being with the potential for experience. As most rational people would agree, to take the life of a living breathing human is to deny it a chance to experience life. Therefore it is rationally wrong to abort the fetus.

In my personal opinion I think it depends on the persons situation. Like if you are 13 or 14 and even some girls that are older, you know that you are not ready and it is not something that is good for you then by all means it is your decision. Now if you have plenty of support and you know that you will not go out with your friend and are willing to put someone else before you. Then no matter what the age it will always depend on a few things like, maturity, support, age and your personal feelings about it and what you think is right not anybody else.

Hi! I'm a big advocate for fighting cruelty against children, even the very tiny. I also feel very sorry for a woman who feels they have no other choice than to kill their baby. It's the worst trauma to go through. I could never judge the woman because I'm not in their shoes, but I also know that the little one feels the pain and has no options. I wish congress could at least pass the bill that allows the baby to anethstized before it's killed so it won't be in pain. Hopefully every woman will someday feel a child is a good thing instead of a burden, but until then, I keep praying. See Ya!

Pro-choice. Why? Had an abortion and it was the best decision I could make at the time. Unlike the other women who've posted their experiences, I do not regret a thing and have moved on.
Also, I think forcing full term pregnancy on women who do not want it is tramatising and as evil as rape. Abortion is a relatively safe procedure and at least 10 times safer than full term pregnancy.

I am most definitely pro abortion. Without controls on the birth rate, whether self imposed or mandated we will one day be just another poor, crowded, starving nation. We already cannot care for our nations poor, or will not. If a woman chooses to end an unwanted pregnacy, fine. To be an unwanted child may be a fate worse than death. Adoption helps but most couples want only infants leaving far far too many children in substandard foster care. ALWAYS A HOT TOPIC
