GeIL 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300)

Motherboard is Dual Channel Capable.

If you visit the manufactures website and look up the memory product number (GX21GB5300PLXAM) you will notice it has that memory listed as single channel memory. And the thing that struck me as a little odd is its only for AMD processors.

Its not necessarily the wrong type of ram, and yes, it can only be used for AMD's. You should definately stick to the same manufacturer of ram as you have in your PC right now because different companies ram sometimes doesn't mix well. Keeping them the same will keep your computer running stable as different sticks of ram have different latency settings and voltage settings. I suggest you speak to someone at a store that deals only with computers. The people at Best Buy or any big chain stores don't know anything. They will sell you anything.

Just like Mysticman says: They MUST be EXACTLY the same memory chips in order to work in dual-channel. Period.

If you add a stick that is exactly like the one in there already it will run in dual channel. But they have to be exactly alike, so I suggest you buy whatever brand is in there already.
