Yes of course.There are ways to save the kid and save yourself too.We all have cell phones, and 911 is just a few clicks away.

I would like to think so, i would get the license plate number and follow them while calling the police on my cell , I would definitely try my hardest to help that child.

You must do whatever you can... if you really fear for your own life too much to approach the situation, probably the best thing to do is call emergency right away. They have SWAT teams and hostage negotiators to deal with that sort of thing.

I would try unless the child was in further harms way by me interfering....either way I would call 911

Uh... Maybe?! I'd want to, but I can't imagining risking my life to potentially save someone I don't even know. Sad, but that is the real answer.
