First check with your bank to see if the check has cleared. Then call the lawyer. If he won't answer you let them put you on hold. Call them on another line and tell them that its new business. When he picks up act like you were just on hold. A good way to get past secretarys!

If he hasn't cashed the check "STOP THE CHECK".
It's just a traffic ticket and will cost less to pay or go to traffic school than the lawyer will probably cost. Most states have programs to assist out of state motorists resolve this type of problem. Call the court designated on the ticket and ask if you can do traffic school in your home town or over the net. Avoid lawyers if at all possible. You can also ask for an extension or pead not guilty. Many times if you show up in court the Cop doesn't show and they drop the charges. Try to get a court date at the end of the month. The cop will be less likely to show up at the end of the month due to end of the month budget concerns.

If you paid money, someone should be returning your call. Most law firms have you sign an engagement letter before you pay one dime. An engagment letter spells out for you the terms of your representation and how much such representation will cost. I'm not sure how much of a payment you sent in or how much representation will totally cost you, but you might have done just as well as to pay the ticket. Lawyers are pretty expensive and they charge you for every phone call, all the paperwork and any supporting documents. If you're paying for a lawyer, bug the law office, who cares if they're annoyed.

This doesn't seem like a very mature relationship...if he's your boyfriend and you really care about him why have you been waiting for him to call you...why not just call and get everything out in the open in terms of the status of your relationship. If you haven't heard from in in a month and this is unlike him...god forbid he's very ill or dead...stop being difficult and pick up the phone and call him.

Well, I am not a lawyer, but I work at a large law firm with lots of "busy" attorneys. My advice is #1. Call and MAKE SURE they got your check. They should have an accounting dept/person. #2 Call and ask to speak to the attorney's secretary. Most of them have been at it long enough to be able to answer your questrions and/or get a message to the lawyer that you really need to speak to him/her. If you get really nervous....cry on the phone. Remember you are paying them for service....they need to produce.

If it's been over a week, you certainly should expect to have heard something from them by now. I would go ahead and call and ask questions. A lawyer who doesn't want to answer your questions is a lawyer you don't want representing you! You can, and probably should, stop payment on the check and seek another attorney. If they've already cashed it, then they work for you and have to listen and offer advice! Good luck!

He is working your you. This is why you paid him. Give him a call to confirm the court date. Tickets are usually easy and straight fore ward for lawyers to handle.

Don't be nervous and let your lawyer do all the talking. This is why you paid him.
